Randstad is partnering with a prominent Western Australian State Government Department to find an analytical and strategic Senior Project Officer - Corporate Reporting and Information Governance.

The Offer

  • Contract: Initial 3 months contract with potential for extension.
  • Pay Rate: $75 - $85 per hour.

About the Role As the Senior Project Officer, you will deliver targeted project and coordination functions to strengthen data, reporting, and governance capabilities ahead of the high-threat season. You will work at the crossroads of project delivery, policy implementation, and finance reporting, ensuring that operational readiness systems are effectively developed, documented, and embedded across the directorate.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Coordinate project tasks, planning, risk identification, and deliverables to support operational preparedness and capability.
  • Data Governance & Reporting: Interpret information management frameworks, document data processes, and establish self-service reporting tools and dashboards in collaboration with the Data Office.
  • Financial & Performance Monitoring: Monitor expenditure against budgets, coordinate finance reporting tools, and liaise with finance committees and Community Recovery teams to inform overarching financial positions.
  • Policy & Documentation: Develop, embed, and maintain knowledge management documents, governance registers, quick reference guides, and directorate instructions.
  • Corporate & Emergency Response: Demonstrate public sector ethics and participate in emergency or critical event response duties as required.

Key Selection Criteria To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Project Management Experience: Proven track record delivering targeted project outcomes, managing deliverables, and handling competing priorities within defined timeframes.
  • Exceptional Communication: High-level written communication skills with experience preparing briefings, reports, and governance documentation for a government audience.
  • Analytical & Technical Skills: Well-developed research and problem-solving skills, with experience developing reporting tools, operational instructions, and data processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong ability to build effective working relationships, facilitate working sessions, and support the adoption of new systems across diverse teams.
  • Desirable Knowledge: Knowledge of business intelligence practices, data governance frameworks, public sector finance, and award-based allowances.
